The Rasterbator ...is a really cool tool which allows you to create huge rasterized images. As input you need a graphics file (the file size has to be less than 1 MB). I tried it out with a painting by Roy Lichtenstein which I took from an online gallery. Then I uploaded the file to The Rasterbator, cropped it and rasterized it on 3 x 8 A4 pages in colour. Rasterbator sent back a PDF file which I printed on my HP Color LaserJet 2550. Surprisingly, this Laser Printer is able to print almost the full area of an A4 sheet, there was very little white space which I had to cut away:
Next I glued the 24 pages together:
...and I think the result is quite impressive:
Rasterbator is able to produce images up to a size of 20m x 20m in colour and b&w. You can crop the uploaded image online. All you need is a big wall, a big and flat table (important!), some glue and some time. Really cool! :) -- Markus Ehrenfried
